The verbal clash that began between CHP member Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın and fellow CHP member Burhaniye Mayor Ali Kemal Deveciler escalated. While Deveciler’s remarks directed at Akın, “Switch to the AK Party too, so we can be rid of you!” drew attention, the meeting was recessed due to the tension.

During the argument, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın also responded to Ali Kemal Deveciler's harsh statements. Following Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Akın's words to Deveciler, “Let me know when the theater is over,” the tension increased further. The mutual statements between the two mayors also drew the attention of other members in the council hall. The disagreement that began with the election for OIZ membership continued with the political accusations the parties leveled at each other.

The most striking moment of the session was Burhaniye Mayor Ali Kemal Deveciler's words directed at Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın. Later in the argument, Burhaniye Mayor Deveciler used the words, “Switch to the AK Party and let's get rid of you!”

Ahmet Akın did not remain silent in the face of Ali Kemal Deveciler's words. Akın was seen responding to Deveciler by saying, “Ali Kemal abi, you talk to the AK Party before us.”
