MISSILE LAUNCH SYSTEM ORDER FROM IRAN TO RUSSIA
In a report by the Financial Times (FT), it was claimed that the 2024-2025 production schedule of one of Russia's leading defense industry manufacturers included a missile launch system order for Iran.
The report included the claim that Vympel, one of Russia's leading missile and launch system design companies, sent a letter to the Russian defense industry organization KB Mashinostroyeniya (KBM) requesting that deliveries of components for "APU-L" and "APU-305" type missile launch systems be accelerated and warned that delays could jeopardize nine contracts.
THEY REQUESTED 90 UNITS
In the report, which stated that according to the production schedule attached to the letter, 7 of the customers were Russian and 2 were "foreign," it was alleged that China ordered 192 "APU-305" type systems, while the buyer with the code name "K-10," used in Russian defense documents to identify Iran, ordered 90 "APU-L" type missile launch systems.
On the other hand, it was stated that the production documents did not contain information on whether the delivery to Iran ultimately took place.
