FIRE BROKE OUT IN GIRLS' DORMITORY
The fire broke out around 20:00 at the Şule Yüksel Şenler Girls' Dormitory located on Deliçay 1 Street in the Yenidoğan neighborhood of Talas district. Upon the report of those who saw smoke rising from the 4th floor of the 9-story dormitory, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the address.
STUDENTS EVACUATED
The fire was extinguished in a short time with the efforts of the fire crews. After the fire, the dormitory was evacuated as a precaution. Efforts were initiated to clear the smoke inside the building. Meanwhile, announcements were made that students could go to nearby businesses. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been initiated.

Dursun Özdemir, who operates a business beneath the dormitory building, stated that they invited the students to their establishment due to the heavy rain, saying, "Citizens passing by our business informed us that there was a fire upstairs. We took the children coming out of the building inside. We wanted them not to get cold. We are offering tea. They had gotten out of bed and come outside in their pajamas. We understand that after the dormitory is ventilated, the children will be taken back to their dormitory."
