The fire that started in a non-forest area in the Nilüfer district of Bursa and spread to the forested area due to the wind was partially brought under control after approximately 2 hours of intervention by the teams. While aerial and ground interventions continue to completely extinguish the flames, the General Directorate of Forestry announced that the fire's energy has been reduced in the region.
A fire that started outside a forested area in the Nilüfer district of Bursa quickly spread to the forest. As the flames grew, numerous teams were dispatched to the region, and an intense aerial and ground response was launched against the fire.
STARTED IN BAŞKÖY
The fire broke out for an undetermined reason near the Başköy neighborhood in the Nilüfer district. The flames, which started in an area outside the forest, spread to the forested region under the influence of the wind.
Upon the report, fire department teams as well as teams from the Regional Directorate of Forestry were sent to the area. The teams began efforts to prevent the flames from spreading to a wider area.
After the fire reached the forest, aerial vehicles were also deployed. Two planes and 4 helicopters were dispatched to the region, and the teams intervened by dropping water on the flames from the air.
PARTIALLY BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL
The fire, which started in a non-forest area in the Başköy neighborhood of the Nilüfer district in Bursa and spread to the forested area, was partially brought under control after approximately 2 hours of intervention. Aerial and ground intervention by the teams continues against the flames that grew under the influence of the wind.
The General Directorate of Forestry stated in a statement on its social media account that the energy of the fire has been reduced. The statement reported that air and ground teams continue their efforts to fully bring the fire under control.
"A SMALL FIRE CAN TURN INTO A BIG FIRE"
The General Directorate of Forestry warned that caution should be exercised against the risk of fire on days when temperatures are high, humidity is low, and wind is strong.
In the statement, a call was made not to light fires in open areas and to absolutely not burn stubble and garden waste, saying, "Let's not forget that a small spark can turn into a big fire."
