Fadıl Akgündüz, known publicly as 'Jet Fadıl,' who was sentenced to 2,504 years in prison for 'fraud' in the real estate projects named Caprice Gold in Istanbul Bayrampaşa and Caprice Maldives in the Maldives, attended the funeral of his deceased mother, Zekiye Akgündüz, in Siirt under the supervision of the gendarmerie with permission obtained from the prosecutor's office.
In the investigation into timeshare sales in the real estate projects named Caprice Gold in Istanbul Bayrampaşa and Caprice Maldives in the Maldives, Zekiye Akgündüz, the mother of Fadıl Akgündüz, who was sentenced in 2023 by the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court in the case where he was tried for the crime of 'Fraud by merchants or company managers and cooperative managers' against 601 people to 2,504 years and 2 months in prison and 12 million 20 thousand TL judicial fine, passed away on April 11 at the hospital where she was receiving treatment in Istanbul.
INTENSIVE SECURITY MEASURES WERE TAKEN
After the procedures, the body of Zekiye Akgündüz was brought to her hometown Siirt for burial. Following an application made upon his mother's death, Fadıl Akgündüz arrived in the city under intense security measures with permission obtained from judicial authorities.
PARTICIPATED UNDER GENDARMERIE SUPERVISION
Fadıl Akgündüz, who participated in the funeral held at Şeyh Musa Mosque in Doğan Neighborhood under gendarmerie supervision, stood in line during the funeral prayer performed for his mother. Akgündüz bid farewell to his mother on her final journey as she was buried in Şeyh Musa Cemetery. During the funeral, it was observed that gendarmerie and police teams took extensive security measures around the cemetery.
