Last evening in Ankara's Sincan district, a CH-47 heavy transport helicopter belonging to the Land Aviation Command crash-landed. It was announced that there were no adverse health conditions among the personnel in the accident. Investigation work for the helicopter that crash-landed in the Yenihisar region continues this morning.
"CONDITION OF THE PERSONNEL IS GOOD"
Regarding the accident, Sincan District Governor Levent Kılıç answered questions from the press, saying, "There are 5 personnel, the condition of 4 is good. One personnel has mild chest pain and was taken to the hospital. There is no problem. The condition of the helicopter is being examined. Since it is a military helicopter, the crash investigation team will come. There is no problem. It happened during landing while a training flight was being conducted. I don't know exactly, but it happened around 23:00. Our Land Forces Commander has already arrived. It is pleasing that we have no injuries or loss of life."
"THEY WERE TRAINING, A SOUND CAME THEN A FIRE FLASHED"
Nizami Demirel, one of the eyewitnesses of the incident, stated that he helped the teams because he knew the area, saying, "They were flying for training. A sound came, then a fire flashed. It happened suddenly. A commander said there were 5 personnel. They said there were no deaths. There was one injured person sitting there too. We didn't go because they said it was forbidden. I took the ambulances to the scene. Since I know the area, I helped them take the shortest route. It happened between 22:30-23:00. We always see the helicopters because they train above our village. I was outside at the moment of the accident. A sound came suddenly. I felt it crashed and we immediately called 112. Since I knew the location of the incident, we went back and forth and reached the scene."
