The area in Koçpınar Village, alleged to be the burial site of the young girl reported to have been killed within the scope of the Gülistan Doku investigation, was filmed. Plastic bottles and bags were found in the area, but no corpse or any remains were encountered.
Upon the instruction of the Tunceli Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of the Gülistan Doku investigation, as a result of the studies conducted by the gendarmerie with an "underground imaging device" in Koçpınar Village of Pertek in January 2025, a "grave-like image" measuring 1.60–1.70 meters in length, 70–80 centimeters in width, and 80 centimeters in depth was detected. In the cavity where no bone or corpse findings were encountered, a plastic bottle and a bag were found.
GRAVE-LIKE CAVITY
Upon the prosecutor's instruction, excavation work was carried out in Koçpınar Village on January 12, 2025. The "Underground Imaging Device Search Results Report" regarding the mentioned excavation work was entered into the investigation file.
During the approximately two-hour study, upon the device's alarm, a "suspicious cavity" was detected in the area.
In the report, regarding the detected area, it was recorded that: "Within the searched area, due to the alarm from the UID device, a suspicious cavity was found; the dimensions of this cavity are on average 1.60–1.70 meters in length, 70–80 cm in width, and 80 cm in depth, and it was determined to be in the image of a grave."
CLAIM THAT THE CORPSE'S LOCATION WAS CHANGED
The most striking part of the report was the assessment made regarding the mentioned cavity. The gendarmerie personnel used the following expressions in their report:
- It is assessed that a person was buried in the cavity we detected and then removed after a certain period, which could be approximately 1-2 years; that an object like a backpack and a weapon might have been buried together with the corpse in the cavity, and the oxidation that occurred in the cavity was formed for this reason.
The report also included the statement: "No human corpse or bone fragment could be detected within the identified cavity."
DETERMINATION THAT THE SOIL WAS DUG BEFORE
It was stated that excavation was carried out in the cavity upon the prosecutor's instruction, and some materials were uncovered during the excavation.
In the report, it was said: "At a depth of 50 centimeters in the excavated area, a plastic bottle and a piece of a black-colored bag emerged. It was observed that the soil had eroded due to being dug before, the soil structure was soft and easily dug."
In the final determination section of the report, the statements "No trace of any corpse was found in the excavated area" were included.
"MOST LIKELY SECRETLY BURIED IN OUR VILLAGE"
Residents of Koçpınar Village, connected to Pertek district of Tunceli, spoke to ANKA regarding the events.
Baver Öncel, one of the village residents, said: "It is said that she was buried in our village. I don't know if anyone saw or heard this. Whether it was done at night hours, that is also unclear. Frankly, I don't think a single person could do this; I estimate there is a bigger power behind it. However, I don't believe the people in the village supported this. No one from our village would do such a thing. We know all the villagers. I don't think anyone, including former headmen, would be involved in such a thing. Most likely, she was brought secretly and buried in our village. I curse all those who did this."
"WE WONDER IF THEY BROUGHT HER HERE"
Yaşar Dere, another village resident, said the following:
- How did they take a life, how did they dare to do this? I don't know who will protect us. If the governor doesn't protect, if the police don't protect, if the state doesn't protect, who will protect us? They brought her here... Now we pass by the same road every day. Every time we pass that road, our eyes always get stuck there; we can't help but think, 'I wonder if it's here, I wonder if they brought her here?' How did they do this, how could they be so conscience-less? We also question ourselves; 'What did we do wrong?'
- But now we can't do anything. Our hearts are constantly there. Every time we go to that village, we feel as if we have lost our own child. It could have been my child, it could have been the person I'm talking to. One's mind cannot comprehend. It could have been my daughter. It could have been the governor's, the police chief's, the state hospital director's. If they don't protect, what can an ordinary citizen do?
