My farewell to Vural

I haven't been able to attend funerals for a few years. (An anxiety I need to resolve.) Funerals exist to remember and bid farewell to the deceased, apart from the religious ceremony part. I will do this by writing.

I lost a work colleague very early. I am shocked and sad. Vural Çelik came to the second season of Avrupa Yakası for a one-episode role as Kubilay. He gave a very sweet performance. That week, I told the producer, "If possible, I want to write every episode," and Vural joined the team.

He was a unique person. He was like the child of the set. He would sulk to everyone for no reason we knew, and then ask for gifts to make up. As this gift topic became a joke on set, he started coming into the studio with the line, "What are you getting me this week, Gülse?" He was a childlike spirit with whom we laughed a lot and always tried to keep in good spirits. He especially had a soft spot for me and Engin Günaydın. He had a "Victim persona" that he played a bit to make us laugh on set. When we were going out for coffee with Şenay Gürler, he would say, "Wow, of course, the socialites won't invite us!" "Hey, we're just two girls gossiping, why are you coming?"
