Samsunspor, who lost 2-1 at home to Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, reacted strongly to the red cards shown to Afonso Sousa and Nenad Bjelica and called on the TFF to take action.
In the 9th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Samsunspor, who lost 2-1 at home to Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, reacted to the referee decisions with a very harsh statement. Criticizing the decisions of referee Kadir Sağlam, who officiated the match, the red-and-white club called on the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to take action.
SAMSUNSPOR RECEIVE 2 RED CARDS
Samsunspor, who started the match quickly, took a 1-0 lead with the goal scored by Logi Tomasson in the 21st minute. However, in the 37th minute, Afonso Sousa was sent off after receiving a red card for a second yellow card, leaving the Black Sea team with 10 men. In the second half, Mbaye Diagne from the visiting team also received a red card in the 60th minute, and both teams were left with 10 men on the field. Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, who took the lead in the score, left the field as 2-1 winners with Gift Orban's penalty goal in the 73rd minute and Dia Saba's finding the net in the 83rd minute. With the final whistle of the match, Samsunspor Technical Director Nenad Bjelica also received a red card after his protests to the referee.
SAMSUNSPOR: ''THE REFEREE COULD NOT HANDLE THE WEIGHT OF THE MATCH''
Issuing a written statement, the Samsunspor management argued that the referee decisions directly affected the outcome of the match. In the statement, it was said, "A black night for football: Despite our demands for clean, fair and equal football, we continue to be wronged by controversial decisions. Last night, a black night for football was experienced on our field. While the first yellow card shown to Afonso Sousa was controversial, our player's communication with the referee was interpreted as a reaction and he was sent off with a second yellow card. These consecutive decisions completely changed the course of the match. The referee of the match could not handle the weight of the match and responded even to the question asked by our technical director Nenad Bjelica with a red card." statements were included.
URGENT CALL TO THE TFF
Stating that the sense of justice in Turkish football has been damaged, Samsunspor Club invited the TFF and relevant boards to conduct an urgent investigation and evaluated, "In order to protect the reputation of Turkish football, those who made these decisions must be urgently evaluated. Otherwise, our football, which is our common value, will continue to suffer."
