Heavy rain and hail affecting many cities in Turkey have negatively impacted daily life. Streets and avenues were submerged, some rivers overflowed, vehicles were swept away, and transportation was disrupted. Municipal and fire department teams have initiated work in the flood-affected areas.

ANKARA

Due to heavy rain and hail in the Bala district of Ankara, some streets and avenues were filled with water.

Puddles forming in the city center made it difficult for drivers, and the hail that followed the downpour covered some areas in white. The hail also caused damage to agricultural lands.

SAMSUN

The Havza district of Samsun surrendered to floods after intense heavy rain. Following the overflow of the Hacı Osman Creek passing through the district, water floods occurred in the district center.

After the rain intensified in the evening, the creek quickly overflowed, and the vicinity of Cumhuriyet Square along with Çay and Bahçelievler neighborhoods were submerged. Many houses and workplaces were flooded, and some vehicles were swept away by floodwaters. Citizens tried to drain the water on their own.

Upon notification, teams from Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and the district municipality were dispatched to the area. The teams continued evacuation and cleaning efforts at the flood points. Meanwhile, in 1988, a major flood disaster had occurred in the district due to the overflow of Hacı Osman Creek.

ÇANKIRI

Heavy rain that quickly affected Çankırı negatively impacted daily life. Due to the rain, basements of houses and workplaces were flooded. Çankırı Municipality teams worked to clear clogged manholes with vacuum trucks to drain the water. Citizens caught unprepared by the rain took shelter under eaves and in workplaces. Some citizens tried to cross by jumping over the puddles.

Traffic in the city occasionally came to a standstill, while fire department teams carried out evacuation efforts in flooded buildings and workplaces. Due to the puddles on the roads, drivers also had a hard time in traffic.

BOLU

After heavy rain and hail in Bolu, streets and avenues turned into lakes, and some workplaces were flooded.

The intermittent rain that continued since the morning turned into heavy hail around noon. Following the downpour and hail, puddles formed in many points of the city. After the rain subsided, citizens started efforts to drain the water that had entered their workplaces.

Due to the heavy rain, the sides of the D-100 highway and underpasses were also filled with water. Drivers had difficulty advancing through the underpasses, and transportation was occasionally disrupted.

YOZGAT

KASTAMONU

Sudden heavy rain and hail in the Tosya district of Kastamonu negatively impacted daily life. Especially in the Unduk neighborhood of Gövrecik Village, roads were covered with floodwaters.

After the heavy rain, floods occurred on village roads, and large puddles formed in the area. While citizens experienced difficult moments, Gövrecik Village Headman İsmail Demirbaş stated that no material damage occurred.

KARABÜK
