US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the US and Israel have entered the "endgame" in the war that began with their strikes on Iran, expressing that their goal is "to cut off every economic lifeline until Tehran is isolated." "WE ARE ENTERING THE ENDGAME"
Bessent made a statement regarding Iran on his account on the US-based X company's social media platform.
Bessent, who argued that US President Donald Trump has "destroyed" Iran's military capacity, nearly all of its military factories, and its nuclear program, said, "Now we are entering the endgame. At dawn, the day of the economy (attack), which is the largest financial attack ever mounted against an enemy, begins."
HE DESCRIBED THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ TRANSIT FEE DECISION AS "EXTORTION"
Bessent claimed that Iran, which he argued "continues to exist by presenting extortion as a security guarantee," sees "retaliation as inevitable and US sanctions as negotiable."
Noting that this period has "ended" with the Trump administration, Bessent assessed, "Those who fear the danger of defying Tehran should not ignore the cost of testing Washington's patience."

Bessent stated that Trump has created an environment where he will use every authority and measure that many have never even considered, saying, "Our goal is to cut off every economic lifeline that sustains this brutal regime until Tehran stands alone."
IRAN'S HORMUZ DECISION
Iran's Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission approved the article stipulating a fee for services to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Hassan Keshkavi, spokesman for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, announced that fees would be collected for maritime navigation, security, fuel supply, and other services; these fees would be collected in Iranian rials or another currency. The draft emphasized that the rights of coastal states and international law would be respected.
