Security camera footage has emerged of the departure of the Tuğberk İmamoğlu dry cargo ship, which is believed to have sunk after colliding with the commercial vessel Alsu off the coast of Silivri in the Marmara Sea, from the İskenderun İSDEMİR Port. In the footage, a tugboat is seen accompanying the ship as it departs the port on August 27 at 15:58. While the Alsu vessel sustained no damage, contact cannot be established with the 10 personnel on the sunken ship.
A commercial vessel named Alsu, flying the Turkish flag, 90 meters long and 13 meters wide, en route from Kocaeli to Aliağa, collided with another commercial vessel named Tuğberk İmamoğlu, also flying the Turkish flag, 89.98 meters long and 12.8 meters wide, heading from the Port of İskenderun to Karadeniz Ereğli, at a point 18 miles south of the coast of Silivri.
