HAKAN FIDAN'S STRONG REACTION
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a striking statement on his social media account regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks about Gaza. Reacting to statements about sending Palestinians from Gaza, Fidan said, "The Palestinian issue is a problem that began with the expulsion of Palestinians from their lands."
"AN UNACCEPTABLE IMPOSITION"
In the continuation of his statement, Fidan evaluated Trump's words as an 'imposition', stating; "The idea that Palestinians will be forcibly evacuated from Gaza, which has been raised in recent days, is an unacceptable imposition. Proposing the displacement of Gazans is absurd, and even discussing it is wrong."
"WE OPPOSE EVERY STEP"
Minister Fidan concluded his statement by saying, "We oppose every step that will continue the genocide, displacement, and isolation of Palestinians. As Turkey, we will work tirelessly and without getting weary to protect the rights of Palestinians, just as we have until now."
WHAT DID TRUMP SAY?
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. would take over the Gaza Strip and would own it "in the long term," and that American troops could be deployed there if necessary "for security purposes."
