The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, signaled an operation against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG. Minister Fidan stated, "It's either Damascus or us. If necessary, we will carry out an operation against YPG."

After the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan signaled an operation against the terrorist organization YPG. Indicating a new administration in Syria, Minister Fidan stated, "We will carry out an operation against YPG if necessary, either Damascus or us."

Minister Fidan responded to a question regarding an operation against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which continues to exist in Syria, during a meeting with representatives of national and international media organizations.

"IF NECESSARY, WE WILL CARRY OUT AN OPERATION AGAINST YPG"

Stating that "Our story in Syria is just beginning," Minister Fidan noted:

"Turkey has the capacity and determination to eliminate all threats at their source. Nothing will be the same as before. Countries that exhibit ambiguous attitudes in the fight against terrorism must also learn from terrorist attacks. We will continue to fight with the same determination without distinguishing between ISIS and PKK. We have no chance of living with threats; either Damascus or we will take action. If necessary, we will carry out an operation against YPG."

"WE ARE CONTINUING OUR EFFORTS FOR A CEASEFIRE IN GAZA"

Speaking about the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, Minister Fidan stated, "The Palestinian issue was among the top priorities on our agenda. We have seen that Israeli oppression continues over Palestine. While mobilizing all our resources for Palestine, we also established dialogue with our international counterparts. We became involved in the case at the International Criminal Court. Thanks to our initiatives, 9 more countries recognized Palestine. The ceasefire achieved in Lebanon is not sufficient to extinguish the fire in our region alone. We are continuing our efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza. Lasting peace in the Middle East depends on a two-state solution between Palestine and Israel. Turkey will continue to stand by its Palestinian brothers," he expressed.

TURKISH MILITARY PRESENCE IN SYRIA

In response to a question about the presence of Turkish soldiers in Syria, Minister Fidan stated, "Turkey is also reviewing its relations depending on the steps taken by the new government. We are in a very new process. It has only been a month. Our presence there will need to evolve into a different dimension. If everything goes well," he replied.
