Bayram Ali Bayramoğlu, a former MP of the AK Party in the 23rd term and former president of MÜSİAD, was detained in Ankara. The Capital Markets Board (SPK) had filed a criminal complaint against Bayramoğlu last January.
Bayram Ali Bayramoğlu, a former AK Party Member of Parliament and former President of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), was detained in Ankara by the Financial Crimes Investigation Department. It was learned that Bayramoğlu was taken to Istanbul because it is where the investigation began.
HE HAD FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THE CMB
The Capital Markets Board (CMB) had filed a criminal complaint against Bayramoğlu last January. In the bulletin published by the CMB on December 23, 2025, Bayramoğlu was accused of "participating in the crime of unauthorized capital market activity by allowing the use of the bank accounts of the company/companies he is responsible for."
WHO IS BAYRAM ALİ BAYRAMOĞLU?
Bayram Ali Bayramoğlu served as the Founding Vice President of MÜSİAD, of which he is a founding member. He served as the President of MÜSİAD from May 22, 1999, to April 17, 2004, and is still actively involved in the association as a member of the MÜSİAD High Advisory Board. Bayramoğlu also served as a Member of the Assembly at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for a period and held the position of Chairman of the Turkish-Saudi Arabia Business Council within DEİK. He has held coordinator roles in the development of commercial relations between the Turkish business world and Arab countries. Bayramoğlu was elected as a Member of Parliament for Rize from the AK Party in the 23rd Legislative Term and served in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
