Sad news has come from 63-year-old İsmail Bilen, who served as the AK Party Manisa Deputy during the 22nd, 23rd, 26th, and 27th terms of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Bilen was found dead in his home in Ankara.

WHO IS İSMAİL BİLEN?
İsmail Bilen, born on October 25, 1961, in the Bulanık district of Muş, was a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Law. He began his professional career as a freelance lawyer in the Salihli district of Manisa and entered politics in the 1990s with the Welfare Party. He was among the founding members of the Virtue Party and was a candidate for deputy from this party in the 1999 elections.
In 2001, he took on the role of Founding District Chairman of the AK Party, which was established under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Throughout his political career, he was elected as the Manisa Deputy in the 22nd, 23rd, 26th, and 27th terms. He actively served on many committees in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, including the Justice, Petition, Human Rights Investigation, National Defense, and Constitutional Committees.
Bilen also participated in the Parliamentary Research Committees established to address the issues in the viticulture and olive oil sectors; he chaired the committee focused on grape producers.
Having held significant positions within the party, Bilen served as the AK Party General Center Provincial Coordinator since 2003 and was the coordinating deputy for many provinces. In the 27th term, he served as a member of the AK Party Group Management Board.
İsmail Bilen, who spoke intermediate English, was married and a father of three.
