HE DISCOVERED SCHUMACHER

The Irish sportsman, who once founded the Jordan F1 team named after himself, was known for his charisma and the drivers he discovered. He was the one who gave Michael Schumacher a chance in place of Bertrand Gachot at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix, where the German driver made his debut. Although the clutch let him down, his F1 journey had begun. Within two weeks, Flavio Briatore intervened and asked Schumacher to race for Benetton in the next race.
