After TOSFED took over the operation of the Istanbul Park circuit, a 7-year agreement was reached with F1 management. While the first race is planned to be held in 2027, President Erdogan will announce the deal at around 15:00.

We have reached the final stage in the critical process for Formula 1, one of the world's most prestigious motorsport organizations, to return to Istanbul. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will announce the agreement today at 3:00 PM.

CRITICAL THRESHOLD FOR ISTANBUL PARK

The promotional program will address the future of Istanbul Park circuit and plans regarding the race calendar. Following the tender process conducted in 2024, steps taken towards the goal of hosting Formula 1 again in Istanbul in 2026 are expected to be announced.

PARTICIPATION FROM THE PEAK OF WORLD MOTORSPORTS

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is also expected to attend the meeting. Domenicali is anticipated to provide assessments regarding the organization's global structure and the cooperation with Turkey.

BILLION-DOLLAR CONTRIBUTION TO ECONOMY AND TOURISM

The program will also address the contribution of Formula 1 to Istanbul's international brand value, as well as the economic impacts it will provide to Turkey's economy and tourism. The new agreement is aimed at providing a billion-dollar contribution.

ISTANBUL PARK IS BEING RENOVATED

At the event, details are expected to be shared regarding planned modernization works at Istanbul Park, renovation of social areas, and 'green event' projects to be implemented within the scope of sustainability.

OFFICIAL CALENDAR AND AGREEMENT DURATION TO BE ANNOUNCED

Following the process conducted under the coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, it is planned to officially announce Turkey's place in the Formula 1 calendar and the duration of the agreement.
