A massive fraud operation that rivals movies has been concluded in Mersin. In the central district of Yenişehir, an 8-member gang attempting to sell a plot of land with a market value of 200 million Turkish Liras for one-tenth of its price using a fake power of attorney was caught red-handed by the gendarmerie just as signatures were being made. Four of the suspects sent to court were arrested, and the million-dollar land was returned to its rightful owner.

Of the suspects sent to the courthouse, 4 were arrested and sent to prison.
GENDARMERIE FOLLOWED STEP BY STEP
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred in the central Yenisehir district of Mersin. Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams tracked down suspects trying to sell a high-value registered land belonging to a citizen by issuing a fake notary power of attorney document.
When the gang members, who put their planned scheme into action, came to the stage of transferring the property worth 200 million TL for a price of 20 million TL, the gendarmerie pressed the button.
OPERATION AT THE NOTARY
During the simultaneous operation carried out while the sales transactions were being conducted; the suspect using the fake document, the person in the buyer's position, and a total of 8 suspects identified as participating in the fraud were caught red-handed and taken into custody.
During the searches, numerous fake documents prepared for the sales transactions and 9 mobile phones were seized.
4 SUSPECTS SENT TO PRISON
After their questioning at the gendarmerie, 4 of the 8 suspects, who were sent to the courthouse under extensive security measures, were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison. The other 4 suspects were released under judicial control.
A large-scale investigation continues into the incident, which narrowly avoided a massive heist.
