This evening at 7:00 PM, a fight broke out among fans heading to the Galatasaray-Göztepe match at RAMS Park in the Gemlik district of Bursa. During the altercation, Galatasaray fans A.A. and M.E. were stabbed and injured. The police detained 50 fans following the fight, and it was reported that the injured individuals are in good health. An investigation has also been initiated regarding the incident.
Fans traveling by bus to the Galatasaray-Göztepe match, which will be played this evening at 19:00 in the 18th week of the Trendyol Super League, met at the market in Umurbey Junction. A dispute among the fans escalated into a knife fight.
2 GALATASARAY FANS STABBED
In the ensuing scuffle, Galatasaray fans A.A. and M.E. were stabbed and injured. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area following reports from witnesses. While the police separated the fans, the injured were taken to Gemlik State Hospital by ambulance after initial treatment at the scene. It was learned that the injured individuals were not in life-threatening condition.
50 PEOPLE DETAINED AND AN INVESTIGATION INITIATED
After the incident, the bus carrying Göztepe fans, which had set off from Izmir, was taken to the Police Department. It was reported that police teams were investigating the identities of those involved in the stabbing and the fight among the 50 suspects. It was also learned that the Gemlik Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation related to the incident.
