"WE HAVE APPLIED TO UEFA"
Özbek stated regarding the issue of increasing the stadium capacity, "Regarding the increase in the stadium's capacity... UEFA has allowed five countries to remove the seats behind the goals. Turkey is not among them. We are trying to put pressure on UEFA regarding this matter, and we are making efforts for Turkey to be included in this scope. If we succeed, it will be possible to increase the capacity."
"CAPACITY WILL INCREASE BY 8 THOUSAND"
Galatasaray Board Member Bora Bahçetepe also recently stated, "There is something we all know, the stadium has a static project. UEFA has its norms. When everyone is seated, there is something that needs to be achieved in terms of visibility of the stadium, slope, number of toilets, number of exits, number of emergency exits, etc. UEFA allows standing spectators in certain countries. Unfortunately, Turkey is still not one of those countries. Turkey is not in that class of countries. We have work regarding this matter with our other competitors. Once we obtain the necessary legal permissions, we want to quickly allow spectators in both goal areas. This will also give us the opportunity to increase the stadium's capacity by nearly 8 thousand."
