Galatasaray defeated RAMS Başakşehir 2-1 in the 19th week of the Trendyol Super League.

The leader Galatasaray visited RAMS Başakşehir in the 19th week of the Trendyol Super League. The yellow-reds left the match at Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium with a 2-1 victory, increasing the point difference with their closest follower Fenerbahçe to 11 with a game in hand.

CİMBOM EXPECTED A PENALTY

Galatasaray expected a penalty. Dries Mertens sent the ball into the penalty area in the 28th minute of the match. Defender Hamza Güreler cleared the ball. Galatasaray players protested, claiming that their opponents handled the ball with their hands. Following this, referee Atilla Karaoğlan listened to VAR's Yaşar Kemal Uğurlu and continued the game. This decision led to controversies.

BARIŞ ALPER OPENED THE SCORING

Galatasaray found the goal they were looking for in the 42nd minute. Goalkeeper Muhammed wanted to send the ball to the attacking area, but Torreira intervened in the midfield, controlled the ball, and passed it to Yunus Akgün. Yunus sent a ground pass to Osimhen, who was at the edge of the penalty area. Osimhen quickly delivered the ball to Barış Alper, who was moving from the left side of the penalty area, with a single touch. Barış Alper's shot with the top of his right foot found the back of the net.

PIATEK BROUGHT THE EQUALIZER

Başakşehir equalized in the 53rd minute with their striker Piatek. In a ball sent forward by Opoku from defense, Piatek headed the ball to Keny, who was on the left wing, from behind the penalty arc. Keny made a cross into the penalty area with the outside of his foot from the left wing. In the goal area, Piatek touched the ball and sent it into the net. Thus, the score became 1-1.

BARIŞ ALPER BROUGHT THE VICTORY

Barış Alper, who scored his team's first goal, was back on the scene just 6 minutes later. The national player scored with a right-footed shot from the right side of the penalty area, finding the net. With this goal, Galatasaray took the lead again in the 59th minute. This goal determined the final score of the match.

OBJECTION TO THE GOAL FROM BAŞAKŞEHİR

After this goal, Başakşehir players protested to the match referee Atilla Karaoğlan, claiming that Osimhen had handled the ball before the goal. Following this, Atilla Karaoğlan waited for VAR's review before restarting the game. VAR referee Yaşar Kemal Uğurlu requested a kick-off after approximately 2 minutes of review. Although the Başakşehir side protested this decision as well, the result did not change, and it quickly became the most debated position of the match.
