Galatasaray has abandoned the transfer of 31-year-old Bernardo Silva, who left Manchester City, due to the player's total fee demand reaching 50 million Euros. The red-yellow team wants to add 20-year-old national player Can Uzun, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, to their squad for a fee in the range of 30-35 million Euros, as a replacement for Bernardo Silva.

Galatasaray, who had difficulty filling Dries Mertens' shoes last season, prioritized the number 10 position in their new season transfer efforts.

BERNARDO SILVA IS TOO EXPENSIVE

Galatasaray made initial contact with 31-year-old Portuguese star Bernardo Silva, whose contract with Manchester City expired and became a free agent, through Ilkay Gundogan. However, the experienced player's total cost of 50 million Euros over 3 years, including the signing bonus, forced Galatasaray's management to step back. The yellow-reds, who set a budget of 40 million Euros for the transfer, turned their route to a younger and more promising name after Silva's high cost.

NEW TARGET IS CAN UZUN

Cimbom added 20-year-old expatriate talent Can Uzun, who plays for Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, to their agenda. The young star, 11 years younger than Silva, has a contract with the German club until June 2029.

NEGOTIATIONS ARE STARTING

Although Can Uzun's contract includes a 60 million Euro release clause, Galatasaray aims to sit down with Frankfurt and complete this transfer with a transfer fee in the range of 30-35 million Euros. The versatile player, who can play on the left wing and forward positions in addition to the number 10 position, had drawn attention with his performance of 10 goals and 6 assists wearing the Frankfurt jersey.
