In drilling operations conducted in China's Hunan province, 40 separate gold veins extending up to 3,000 meters deep were discovered. Gold was detected at 138 grams per ton in some rock samples, while it was stated that the potential gold resource in the region could exceed 1,000 tons. The discovery, whose approximately 300-ton portion is estimated to be worth up to 83 billion dollars, drew attention in the global mining industry.

In drilling operations conducted in China's Hunan province, a mineral deposit remarkable for its gold density was discovered. While 40 separate gold veins extending to a depth of 3,000 meters underground were identified, 138 grams of gold per ton were found in some rock samples. It was stated that the gold resource in the region could exceed 1,000 tons, and it was calculated that the estimated value of the 300-ton portion could reach 83 billion dollars.

138 GRAMS OF GOLD PER TON WERE DETECTED

Geological drilling work carried out in Pingjiang County, affiliated with China's Hunan Province, revealed a new mineral deposit with high gold density.

In rock samples examined in a laboratory environment, gold density reaching 138 grams per ton was detected.

While a density of 1 to 3 grams per ton in commercial gold mines is considered economically viable, values of 10 grams and above are described as high-grade ore. The fact that the values determined in Pingjiang are well above these levels drew attention.

40 SEPARATE GOLD VEINS WERE FOUND 3,000 METERS BELOW GROUND

According to data from the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Geology, in explorations carried out in the Wangu area, 40 separate gold ore veins extending to a depth of 3,000 meters underground were mapped.

While it is assessed that the potential gold resource in the region could exceed 1,000 tons, it was stated that the market value of approximately 300 tons of gold identified in initial calculations could reach 83 billion dollars.

However, whether all of these amounts qualify as economically extractable reserves will become clear through detailed technical studies.

GOLD PARTICLES ARE VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE

Chen Rulin, one of the experts working in the field, announced that remarkable findings were encountered in core samples extracted from a depth of approximately 2,000 meters.

Rulin reported that in some rocks, along with microscopic gold particles, free gold grains visible to the naked eye were also present.

This situation is considered among the important findings showing that the discovered ore veins have high gold density.

IT COULD CONTRIBUTE TO CHINA'S GOLD PRODUCTION

While it was stated that the total length of the exploration drilling carried out in the region exceeded 65 kilometers, it was reported that work continues to identify new ore veins.

If it is confirmed that the discovered gold deposit is economically operable, it is expected to make a significant contribution to China's domestic gold production capacity.

Experts state that the true size and production potential of the mineral deposit will become clearer after ongoing drilling and feasibility studies.
