The will of the famous Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani contains important decisions regarding the future of the brand. According to a document obtained by Reuters, Armani's heirs will be required to sell 15% of the company’s shares within 18 months of his death. Subsequently, within three to five years after his death, an additional transfer of 30% to 54.9% of shares will take place to the same buyer.

The will also states that if this sale does not occur, the option of a public offering should be considered.

Armani expressed that priority for potential buyers should be given to major luxury groups such as LVMH, L'Oreal, and EssilorLuxottica. He also stated that other fashion and luxury companies that the brand collaborates with should be evaluated for future sales.

As the largest shareholder of the brand he founded in the 1970s with his partner Sergio Galeotti, Armani maintained both creative and administrative control until the end of his life. Despite the designer having no children, his company is expected to generate 2.3 billion euros ($2.7 billion) in revenue in 2024, although it has experienced a decline in profits due to stagnation in the industry.
