The trial regarding the allegation that Ekrem İmamoğlu's bachelor's degree is fake began today at the 59th Criminal Court of First Instance in Istanbul. It was observed that İmamoğlu, whose photo was taken while entering the courtroom, has lost a considerable amount of weight.
The first hearing of the case opened against Ekrem İmamoğlu for "systematic forgery of official documents" due to a fake diploma, with a prison sentence request ranging from 2 years and 6 months to 8 years and 9 months, has begun.
The trial at the Istanbul 59th Criminal Court of First Instance is being held in the courtroom located in Silivri. Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is detained for another crime, attended the hearing. Additionally, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Ekrem İmamoğlu's father Hasan İmamoğlu, his wife Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, his son Selim İmamoğlu, CHP members of parliament, party members, and many spectators were also present in the courtroom.
SLOGANS CHANTED IN THE COURTROOM
İmamoğlu, who was brought to the courtroom under the escort of gendarmerie, was greeted with applause. The audience present in the courtroom chanted slogans such as "Rights, law, justice," "President İmamoğlu," and "There is no salvation alone, either together or none of us." It was observed that Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was seen for the first time in a long time, had lost a significant amount of weight.

MONTHLY INCOME AND EDUCATION QUESTION
Initially, Ekrem İmamoğlu's identity was verified during the hearing. İmamoğlu, who stated that he is married and a father of three children, answered the question about his education status with "Master's degree." His response was met with applause in the courtroom.
In response to the judge's question, "Do you have a criminal record?" İmamoğlu replied, "Thank God, no," and stated that his monthly income is 220,000.
