In response to the events in Syria, a notable comment came from famous actress Gonca Vuslateri regarding the hair braiding movement initiated by DEM Party members. A woman who is a member of the terrorist organization YPG had her hair cut in Syria, prompting the DEM Party to start a "hair braiding" movement. DEM Member of Parliament Pervin Buldan shared a video on social media where she braided her hair. Other party members and actress Belçim Bilgin also joined the movement.
