According to the agreement to be made with 16 companies by the Ministry, special discounts will be offered on furniture, white goods, home textiles, and kitchenware for newlyweds. Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they have signed a discount protocol with 16 companies and said, "I would like to thank all the companies providing discounts."

After the Cabinet meeting, Minister Göktaş answered questions from journalists, stating, "With the discount protocol we will establish with our 16 companies, we will offer special discounts to young people getting married for their needs such as furniture, white goods, home textiles, and kitchenware. We will share the details of the campaign regarding the companies we will make discount agreements with and the discounts they will apply with the public in the meeting we will hold with our companies today (Wednesday). I thank all the companies that provide discounts with sensitivity to the Family Year," he said.



ISTANBUL IS THE CITY WITH THE MOST APPLICATIONS



Minister Göktaş also made evaluations regarding the birth support that started accepting applications on April 8, stating, "We started receiving applications for birth support through e-Government as of April 8. There is a great interest from our families. So far, 287,518 applications have been made. We received the most applications for the first child with a rate of 41%. The number of applications for the first child born this year was 116,594. For the second child, this rate was 88,982 applications, which is 31%, and for the third child, it was 51,843 applications, which is 18%. In addition, the application rate for families with more than three children is 10%, with the number of applications being 30,099. When we look at the provinces with the most applications, Istanbul took the first place, followed by Ankara and Şanlıurfa," he said.



"PAYMENTS WILL BE IN ACCOUNTS ON MOTHER'S DAY"



Minister Göktaş, who stated that the payments will be in accounts on Mother's Day, continued: "Our family is our future, our shelter built shoulder to shoulder with love, compassion, and loyalty, our safest harbor. The protection and strengthening of the family is our constitutional responsibility. With this understanding, we updated and developed the amount of birth support announced by our President, who declared 2025 as the Family Year. In this context, as of January 1, 2025, a one-time support of 5,000 lira will be provided for the first child born, 1,500 lira monthly for the second child, and 5,000 lira monthly for the third and subsequent children. Payments will be made without interruption until the children reach the age of five, regardless of any criteria. After the examinations we will conduct on the applications, we will deposit our first payments into the accounts of our mothers in May, which includes Mother's Day."
