After the lowest pension was raised to 23,552 lira, salary difference payments affecting approximately 6 million retirees will be deposited into accounts starting tonight at midnight. In addition to those receiving the lowest pension, retirees with salaries between 20,000 lira and 23,552 lira will also benefit from the difference payments.
After the minimum pension was increased from 20,000 lira to 23,552 lira, the wait for pension difference payments, which concerns approximately 6 million retirees, is coming to an end.
The Social Security Institution (SGK) announced that the difference payments will be deposited into retirees' accounts as of midnight on August 7, 2026.
NOT ONLY THOSE RECEIVING THE MINIMUM PENSION
The difference payments will not only cover those receiving the minimum pension. Retirees whose pensions are between 20,000 lira and 23,552 lira will also receive a difference payment for the missing amount.
Thus, the pensions of retirees whose salaries fall below the new base level will also be completed to 23,552 lira.
PAYMENTS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO ACCOUNTS
According to the SGK's schedule, pension differences will be deposited into retirees' bank accounts as of midnight. Retirees will be able to withdraw the difference amounts transferred to their accounts from their banks or ATMs.
