ONE AND A HALF YEARS OF SURVEILLANCE
Following approximately 1.5 years of technical and physical surveillance, Kocaeli Gendarmerie Command teams conducted an operation against the 'Ikizler' criminal organization in June.
Within the scope of the operation, one of the organization's leaders, Mehmet Yaşar, was arrested on charges of 'usury', 'forming an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', 'laundering of assets derived from crime', and 'robbery'.
As the investigation continued, 13 suspects, including Mehmet Yaşar, were also captured and arrested.
CAUGHT WHILE TRYING TO FLEE TO GREECE
While the investigation was ongoing, R.Y., who was the leader of the organization and was being sought as a fugitive, was also captured in an operation conducted by gendarmerie teams in the Milas district of Muğla. It was reported that R.Y., who was caught with his female friend, was preparing to flee to Greece.
After his procedures at the gendarmerie, R.Y. was referred to the courthouse.
