One of the well-known names of the high society, famous businessman Hacı Sabancı, married Nazlı Kayı in 2021. While their marriage continues, Hacı Sabancı was shaken by a paternity lawsuit filed by Fatma D.
THEY MET OCCASIONALLY AT A HOTEL
According to the lawsuit filed through lawyer Şeyda Y. at the Istanbul Family Court; Fatma D. and Hacı Sabancı met 14 years ago via social media. Allegedly, the couple, who frequently came together, vacationed with friends at a hotel in Los Angeles. After the vacation, Hacı Sabancı and Fatma D. occasionally met at a hotel until 2015.
SHE INVITED HIM TO HER HOME, AND THEY HAD A RELATIONSHIP
When the couple's relationship deteriorated in 2019, Fatma D. married another person and settled in Belgium. However, this marriage did not last long. According to the allegations in the petition, Fatma D. asked Hacı Sabancı for help in finding a lawyer to divorce her husband. Hacı Sabancı, who promised to pay the attorney's fee himself, sent money to Fatma D.'s account. Hacı Sabancı, who sent a message to Fatma D., who was living separately from her husband, invited her to his home, and that night the couple had a relationship.
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PARTIES DETERIORATED
While still married, Fatma D. became pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy named Uzay on February 2, 2021. The petition states that Fatma D. frequently sent photos of her newborn child to Hacı Sabancı, and it was expressed that the relationship between the parties deteriorated after Sabancı learned that the child was his.
HE FILED A PATERNITY LAWSUIT
The petition included the following statements: "Fatma D.'s ex-husband has filed a lawsuit for the denial of paternity, claiming that the child is not his. In order to prevent further victimization of the child, we request a determination of the paternity between Hacı Sabancı and the child through DNA testing. We also request that Hacı Sabancı be declared the father and that his registration in the population records be made."
THEY HAD A DNA TEST
The Istanbul Family Court decided to refer Hacı Sabancı to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine whether he is the father of the child named Uzay. Following this decision, Fatma D. and her 4-year-old son Uzay first came to the Istanbul Courthouse to complete the necessary referral procedures and then provided DNA samples at the Forensic Medicine Institute. Hacı Sabancı also went to the Forensic Medicine Institute to undergo a DNA test to determine whether he is the father of little Uzay.
HE WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE FATHER
The paternity test result from the Forensic Medicine Institute reached the Istanbul Family Court, where the case was being heard. The forensic report stated that Hacı Sabancı is 99.99% likely to be the biological father of little Uzay. The report included the following statements: "A comparison was made between the DNA profile belonging to Uzay D., the DNA profile belonging to mother Fatma D., and the DNA profile belonging to Hacı Sabancı, who is claimed to be the father. Based on the results obtained, it was determined that Sabancı is 99.99% likely to be the biological father of Uzay D."
HAPPINESS POSE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The result of the DNA test was widely discussed on social media. While thousands of comments were made throughout the day regarding the paternity news, Hacı Sabancı, Nazlı Sabancı, and Arzu Sabancı shared posts on social media in succession. Hacı Sabancı shared a happiness photo with heart emojis on his Instagram account with his wife Nazlı and daughter.
ARZU SABANCI SHARED FIRST, THEN DELETED
Finally, a post came from Hacı Sabancı's mother, Arzu Sabancı. Arzu Sabancı posted a photo of herself with the caption "Today is the anniversary of my becoming a grandmother." However, after receiving backlash on social media, she quickly deleted the post.
HACI SABANCI: THE TRIAL CONTINUES
After this development, which shocked the high society agenda, Hacı Sabancı, whose eyes were turned to him, made a statement to Hürriyet: "The trial regarding him is ongoing. My lawyers are aware of this process. I am not involved in these matters, nor do I speak about them. The trial is still ongoing; the matter is with the lawyers," he said.
