The number of those arrested in connection with the investigation has risen to 19, and a closure decision has also been made for another hotel owned by Halit Ergül, the owner of the Grand Kartal Hotel where the fire took place, namely the Gazelle Resort Spa Hotel. The hotel manager, Ahmet Demir, was arrested during the night and sent to prison.

On the other hand, within the scope of the investigation launched regarding the hotel fire in which 78 people lost their lives, Ahmet Demir, the general manager of Gazelle Resort Hotel located in the Karacasu district of Bolu, owned by Halit Ergül, has also been arrested. Thus, the number of those arrested within the scope of the investigation has risen to 19.

The statement of Halit Ergül, the arrested owner of Grand Kartal Hotel, has also emerged. In his interrogation at the prosecutor's office, Halit Ergül claimed that they took all necessary precautions against the fire. Ergül said, "There was an alarm system for the fire. However, it probably did not work because this system was damaged at the beginning of the fire. Smoke detectors were activated. A fire drill is conducted every two years before the opening of the season. All staff participate in the drills.
