A shepherd caught in the severe storm that hit Gaziantep while grazing his sheep tried to survive by clinging to a bank at a school entrance. Those moments were captured on security camera.
The heavy rain and hail that suddenly fell on May 3 in Gaziantep, along with the severe storm, caused great damage throughout the city. Due to the strong wind, the roofs of some buildings flew off, and many trees and electricity poles were knocked down.
14 people were injured in accidents caused by overflowing stream beds and adverse weather conditions. Serious damage occurred in many parts of the city due to floods, hail, and storms.
HE LEFT HIS SHEEP AND TOOK SHELTER AT THE SCHOOL
A shepherd, whose name could not be learned, who was grazing his sheep on empty land in the Beykent neighborhood, was also caught in the storm. It was learned that some of his sheep perished during the severe weather conditions. Seeking to save his own life, the shepherd took shelter at Berrin Topçuoğlu Anatolian High School.
HE HELD ON TO A BENCH AND WAITED FOR THE STORM TO SUBSIDE
During the storm, pieces broken off from the roof and objects swept from the surroundings hit the shepherd. The shepherd tried to stay on his feet by holding onto a bench in front of the school's security booth. Those moments were recorded second by second by the school's security camera.
