Parliamentary Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, one of the nine individuals whose party memberships in CHP were suspended and referred to disciplinary proceedings with a request for expulsion, issued a harsh statement. Başarır said, 'I laugh at these undisciplined people. They trampled on the party's regulations; they are out of control. They have no authority to refer us to disciplinary action. We present him and those who made this decision to the nation as a caution.'
The Central Executive Board (MYK) of the CHP convened under the chairmanship of General Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı, who held a press conference at the party headquarters regarding the MYK agenda, announced the names requested for expulsion from the party.
EXPULSION REQUEST FOR 9 NAMES IN CHP
Sarı stated that Ensar Aytekin, Ali Mahir Başarır, Gökhan Günaydın, Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu, Özgür Karabat, Umut Akdoğan, Veli Ağbaba, Turan Taşkın Özer, and Burhanettin Bulut were referred to disciplinary proceedings with a request for definitive expulsion. The party membership of these 9 individuals has also been suspended.
BAŞARIR: THEY ARE FURIOUS
A harsh reaction came from Ali Mahir Başarır, one of the names requested for expulsion. Speaking to T24, Başarır said: "I laugh at these undisciplined people. They trampled on the party regulations, they are furious. They have no authority to refer us to discipline. We refer themselves and those who made this decision to the nation with caution."
AKDOĞAN: WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE PARLIAMENT, YOU CANNOT REFER US TO DISCIPLINE WITH AN MYK DECISION
Umut Akdoğan, CHP Ankara Deputy and one of the 9 names, used the following expressions: "They are going to expel us from the party. Oh, ohhh… What ignorance, man. We are members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
You cannot refer members of parliament to discipline with an MYK decision. A Party Assembly decision is required."
