Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni strongly condemned the attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. Emphasizing that attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable, Meloni called for an end to the attacks. In the attack, 12 people lost their lives and 309 people were injured.
Italian Prime Minister Meloni reacted to the Houthi attack on the airport in Riyadh and sent a message of support to Saudi Arabia and the families of those who lost their lives.

Meloni made a post on the social media platform of US-based company X. In her post, condemning the Houthi attack, Meloni said, “I strongly condemn the Houthi attacks on Riyadh Airport. I stand with Saudi Arabia and the families of the victims and wish the injured a speedy recovery.”

Emphasizing that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are “unacceptable,” Meloni stated that Italy would continue to work with its partners in the region. Meloni said, “These must be stopped. Italy will continue to work with its partners in the region to reduce tensions and promote stability and freedom of navigation.”
12 DEAD, 309 INJURED
Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) had announced that 12 people lost their lives and 309 people were injured in yesterday's attack targeting King Khalid International Airport. It was reported that the injured were placed under treatment in hospitals, and that some of them were in serious condition.
