The Ministry of National Education has published the 2026-2027 academic year calendar. The new term will start on September 14, 2026, and end on June 25, 2027. The first semester break will be on November 16-20, and the second semester break will be on March 8-12, 2027.
According to the 2026-2027 academic year calendar of the Ministry of National Education (MEB), the new academic year will start on September 14 and end on June 25, 2027.
The circular on the '2026-2027 Academic Year Working Calendar' published with the signature of Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin was sent to all provinces. Accordingly, teachers' professional development activities will begin on Tuesday, September 1 in the new academic year.
ORIENTATION TRAINING ON SEPTEMBER 7-11
The first term bell will ring in schools on Monday, September 14, and the first term will end on Friday, January 22, 2027. To support the school adaptation process of students starting preschool education and first grade in primary school in the new academic year, 'orientation training' will be held from September 7 to 11.
Meanwhile; guidance activities will be conducted for 5th grade students of secondary schools and imam hatip secondary schools, preparatory and 9th grade students of secondary education institutions, and students staying in dormitories to help them quickly adapt to the new educational environment, gain information about school operations, and support their academic and professional development.
MID-TERM BREAKS NOT REMOVED
- In the 2026-2027 academic year, the first mid-term break will start on Monday, November 16 and end on Friday, November 20.
- The semester break will begin on Monday, January 25, 2027 and end on Friday, February 5, 2027. The first bell of the second term will ring on Monday, February 8, 2027.
- The second mid-term break will start on Monday, March 8, 2027 and end on Friday, March 12, 2027.
- Teachers' end-of-year professional development activities will be held on June 28-30, 2027.
- The 2026-2027 academic year will end on Friday, June 25, 2027.
