In Antalya, 63-year-old Ahmet Gözenbay, who left home after arguing with a friend, was found motionless in the sea off Kaleiçi Marina. Gözenbay, who was determined to have lost his life during the health team's examination, left his grieving friend in tears.
63-year-old Ahmet Gözenbay, who left his home in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya yesterday evening, was found motionless in the sea off Kaleiçi Marina. Health teams determined that Gözenbay had lost his life.
HE HAD SAID HE WOULD END HIS LIFE
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around 22:00 off Kaleiçi Marina. After leaving his home following an argument with his friend, 63-year-old Ahmet Gözenbay stated in his last phone call that he was in the cliffs area and would end his life.
SEARCH OPERATION LAUNCHED FROM LAND AND SEA
Upon notification of the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police teams went on high alert. A large-scale search operation was launched around Kaleiçi Marina and Karaalioğlu Park to reach Gözenbay.
When Gözenbay indicated in his last phone call that he was in the water, boats affiliated with the Maritime Port Branch Directorate also supported the efforts from the sea. As a result of the search activities carried out both from land and sea, the 63-year-old man was found motionless on the water surface off the Marina by the maritime police.
GRIEVING FRIEND'S TEARS: HE'S ALIVE, ISN'T HE?
Gözenbay, brought to shore on the maritime police boat, was handed over to health teams. In the initial checks made by the teams, it was determined that Ahmet Gözenbay had lost his life.
Gözenbay's friend, who arrived at the scene during the intervention, could not hold back his tears. The grieving friend, who resisted receiving the bad news for a long time by saying to the police teams, "Please, I want to see him. He's alive, isn't he?", was tried to be consoled by those around.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Following the examinations by the crime scene investigation teams and the Public Prosecutor, Gözenbay's lifeless body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation initiated by the teams regarding the incident continues.
