NINE CANDIDATES ARE COMPETING IN THE ISTANBUL BAR ASSOCIATION
Presidential election excitement is underway at the 128th Ordinary General Assembly of the Istanbul Bar Association, one of the largest bar associations in the world.
At the general assembly, which began yesterday at the Haliç Congress Center, voting began today after the candidates' speeches. Nine candidates are competing for the presidency in the bar association, where approximately 70,000 lawyers are registered.
İBRAHİM KABOĞLU CAST HIS VOTE
The current president of the Istanbul Bar Association and candidate of the Lawyers Group for Change, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kaboğlu, went to the ballot box and cast his vote as part of the election.
Kaboğlu arrived to vote accompanied by the slogans "Rights, law, justice" and "The defense did not fall silent, and will not fall silent."
After casting his vote, Kaboğlu made a brief speech and emphasized "law for everyone." He then visited the other ballot boxes and wished the officials well.
THE NEW PRESIDENT IS EXPECTED TO BE DETERMINED IN THE EVENING HOURS
The voting process, conducted under the supervision of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), will continue until 17:00.
According to unofficial results, the new president of the Istanbul Bar Association is expected to be determined around 20:00-21:00.
