A lawsuit has been filed against Metin Kızıllı, who killed his estranged father and son with a shotgun due to a debt dispute, demanding aggravated life imprisonment. Kızıllı confessed that he committed the murder because the 30,000 lira he was owed from a car he sold had not been paid. It was also revealed that Kızıllı sent a message to his wife after the murder saying, "This was my last resort."

In Burdur, a father and son were murdered over a debt of 30 thousand lira.

The incident occurred on September 3, 2024, around 7:00 PM in the Konak neighborhood of the Gölhisar district. 43-year-old Metin Kızıllı opened fire with a shotgun on 53-year-old Ramazan Tin and his 30-year-old son Muharrem Tin, with whom he had a feud over a debt dispute, and then fled. Ramazan Tin died at the scene, while Muharrem Tin passed away in the hospital. Metin Kızıllı, who fled in his car, was caught by the police in the Tefenni district.

SHOTGUN ATTACK CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Footage from a security camera at a nearby business shows Metin Kızıllı running towards the father and son with a gun in hand, first shooting Ramazan Tin, then his son Muharrem Tin, before getting into his car and driving away. After his procedures at the police station, Metin Kızıllı was arrested by the court. The Burdur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against Kızıllı. He was charged with 'premeditated murder' and faces an aggravated life sentence.

TEXTED HIS WIFE AFTER THE MURDER

In his statement in the indictment, Kızıllı explained that he committed the murder due to financial difficulties stemming from the non-payment of a 30 thousand lira debt from a car he sold for 215 thousand lira. After killing Ramazan Tin and his son Muharrem Tin, Metin Kızıllı sent a voice message to his wife saying, 'My dear family, my dear wife, my dear mother, my dear father, my dear children, I sincerely apologize to all of you. I didn't want it to be this way. Please forgive me. I know you won't forgive me. This was my last resort. They put me in a difficult situation, they defrauded me. My situation worsened because they defrauded me. This was my last resort. I killed those who did this to me. I am very sorry. Maybe I will kill myself shortly. Please forgive me.'

THE REASON FOR THE INCIDENT WAS A CAR TRANSACTION

Kızıllı stated in his testimony that about 6 months before the incident, he agreed with Ramazan Tin and his son Muharrem Tin to sell a car registered in his wife's name for 215 thousand lira. They paid 160 thousand lira. When I asked for the remaining 45 thousand lira, they delayed the payment with excuses. I told them I was in a difficult situation and sent a photo of my children eating dry bread. In response, they sent 5 thousand lira. When no further payment was made after 10 days, I sent a message saying, 'I know some people who can throw molotov cocktails at your shop and burn it down by getting street children to buy cigarettes.' In response, they sent another 5 thousand lira. 15 days before the incident, I texted Ramazan, 'Brother, I have given up on everything, I will kill myself anyway, why should I go alone?' In response, he sent another 5 thousand lira and said he would pay the rest in August. Ramazan Tin said, 'If I don't pay the 30 thousand lira by the end of August, I will give you your money at the shop.' But he did not pay until September 2. On September 3, I had a verbal argument with my wife because I couldn't arrange the money for my children's school uniforms. I told my wife, 'I will try to arrange the money today.' I asked my father for a loan, but he said, 'I have no money.'

"I WANTED HIM TO EXPERIENCE THAT FEAR"

Kızıllı, who stated that he went to Ramazan Tin's workplace to ask for his debt due to his financial difficulties, described the moment of the murder as follows: I parked my car near the workplace and waited for it to become quiet. When the workplace became quiet, I got out of the car with the gun. My reason for taking the gun was not to kill Ramazan and his son. I thought I could scare them by firing into the air. As I was walking towards the workplace, I came face to face with Ramazan and his son. Ramazan turned to his right and reached for his waist. Seeing this, I thought he might harm me. I aimed for Ramazan's head and fired. My intention was not to kill. I wanted the bullets to pass by his head and for him to experience that fear, but the bullet hit Ramazan's head. I was in shock at that moment. I don't remember firing at Muharrem as I turned to the other side of the car. After that, I got into my car and headed towards Korkuteli. I was going to make peace with my family and turn myself in to the police. The trial will be held in the Burdur Heavy Penal Court in the coming days.
