In Antalya, two people were poisoned by carbon monoxide gas from a generator they were using while digging a 25-meter well in search of treasure. One of the two individuals, who were taken to the hospital after teams performed CPR, died despite all medical interventions. The treatment of another treasure hunter who was poisoned, as well as a person who came to help his friends in the well and managed to get out on his own, is ongoing.

A treasure tragedy occurred in the Kepez district of Antalya. Teams were dispatched after a report was received at the 112 Emergency Call Center around 12:30, stating that 2 people were trapped in a well dug in the forested area of Kızıllı Neighborhood. Firefighters, who descended into the well with the help of a rope, rescued another person who was lying motionless at a depth of about 5 meters. After receiving information that another person was found in the approximately 25-meter deep well, the teams continued their search efforts and reached another person who was unconscious at the bottom.
HE WAS RESCUED FROM THE WELL AND CPR WAS PERFORMED Two individuals, identified as Zekeriya Taşdemir and Emirkan K., who were pulled out of the well with the help of a rope system, received CPR from the 112 Emergency Health teams for a long time. Zekeriya Taşdemir and Emirkan K., who were transported to the ambulance with a basket stretcher, continued to receive CPR from the fire and health teams during their transfer to the ambulance.
ONE TREASURE HUNTER DIED Among the 3 injured who were taken to various hospitals by ambulances, Zekeriya Taşdemir could not be saved despite all medical interventions and died. It was reported that Emirkan K.'s health condition remained serious. The individual found in a semi-conscious state by the well, whose name was learned to be Selahattin, was said to have come to the scene to help the 2 people in the well and managed to get out on his own.
THE GENERATOR OPERATED IN THE WELL POISONED THEM During the checks conducted by AFAD teams, a high concentration of carbon monoxide was detected in the well, and firefighters found a generator inside the well. It is believed that the 2 individuals who operated the generator without adequate ventilation in the well they dug for treasure were poisoned by the carbon monoxide gas that accumulated in the pit as a result of the smoke produced. While the health teams were intervening with the injured, Emirkan K.'s brother, Hasan K., who arrived at the scene after hearing about the incident, suffered a nervous breakdown and was attempted to be calmed down by his relatives.
