HE FACED TRAGEDY WHILE UNLOADING BREAD
The accident occurred 6 days ago on GMK Boulevard in the central Mezitli district. According to the information obtained, while Onur Yalçın Erciyas (21), who wanted to help his friend who works at a bakery, was unloading bread at the rear of a vehicle parked on the roadside, a car with license plate 34 SA 2727, driven by N.K., traveling in the same direction, hit him.
HE WAS CRUSHED BETWEEN VEHICLES AND FLUNG
Due to the impact, Erciyas was crushed between vehicles and flung onto the road. Allegedly, the driver drove over Erciyas, who had fallen to the ground, and continued for a while longer. The moment of the accident was captured second by second on the security camera of a nearby workplace. Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. After the first intervention by health teams, Erciyas, who was seriously injured, was taken by ambulance to Mersin City Hospital and received treatment.
"HE DROVE OVER ME, DIDN'T BRAKE"
Erciyas, who has been receiving treatment in the hospital for 6 days since the accident, described the horrifying moments he experienced. Erciyas said, "I was helping my friend unload bread. I was taking bread from behind the vehicle. Suddenly a car came from behind. I couldn't even understand what happened. The car hit very fast and flung me. I fell to the ground. Then the car drove over me. It never braked. It was still trying to escape. It stopped further ahead after a while. I was also taken to the hospital by ambulance."
"I CAN'T FEEL MY FEET"
Stating that he was seriously injured in the accident, Erciyas said, "Both sides of my breastbone are broken. The bone under my eyebrow, under my eye, and my nose are broken. I can't feel my feet. My feet were broken and plates were inserted. I am filing a complaint, and I will pursue my case to the end."
