To enhance school security before the new academic year, it is planned to employ 30,000 new security officers in all 81 provinces through İŞKUR. Personnel who will control school entrances and exits will be authorized to conduct searches with detectors, and in suspicious situations, they will instantly transmit information to police and gendarmerie units.
A comprehensive effort is being launched to increase security measures in schools before the new academic year. In coordination with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Education, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it is planned to employ 30,000 new security officers in schools. Personnel assigned through İŞKUR will also be authorized to search with metal detectors.
30,000 NEW SECURITY OFFICERS TO BE RECRUITED
According to the news from Türkiye newspaper, the government has taken action for a new study to increase school security before the new academic year.
According to the information obtained, 30,000 new security officers will be employed to be assigned to schools in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Education, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The 81 provincial governorates will make the assignments of the personnel to be employed through İŞKUR within the scope of the Community Benefit Program (TYP).
AUTHORITY TO SEARCH WITH METAL DETECTORS WILL BE GIVEN
Within the scope of the new system, security personnel working at school entrances will also be given the authority to search with metal detectors.
The officers will check individuals entering and exiting school buildings. In case of a suspicious situation, they will instantly transmit information to police or gendarmerie units.
Security personnel will also constitute the first link of coordination between school administrations and law enforcement forces.
THE AIM IS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE ATTACKS
With the implementation, it is aimed to minimize security risks that may occur in schools and their surroundings. Especially after the sad events in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, it is aimed to prevent possible attacks.
The Ministry of Interior had previously requested risk-based security planning in and around schools with a circular sent to all 81 provincial governorates.
The Ministry had also instructed the establishment of early warning mechanisms, ensuring rapid information sharing between school administrations and law enforcement forces, and strengthening camera systems.
THREE MINISTRIES WILL ACT TOGETHER
Three ministries will work in a coordinated manner in the implementation of the new system.
The Ministry of Interior will conduct the security investigations of the personnel to be assigned in schools. The Ministry of National Education will carry out the assessment of whether the personnel are suitable to work in schools.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will also take part in the employment process to be carried out through İŞKUR and TYP.
