In Denizli, Ramazan Bekrek, who got married, found sponsors for his groom suit to reduce wedding expenses. The groom had the names of about 20 companies printed on his suit and covered a quarter of the wedding budget thanks to this unusual idea. The advertised groom suit, which surprised the guests, became the most talked-about detail of the night.
The wedding of Ramazan Bekrek and Pınar Abas, who united their lives in Denizli, was marked by the groom's suit that resembled a billboard. Amid rising wedding costs, groom Bekrek sought a solution and, inspired by a practice he saw abroad, decided to find sponsors. After negotiating with local businesses, Bekrek struck deals with about 20 companies and placed their names on his suit.
HE TOOK ADS ON EVERY CENTIMETER OF THE SUIT
As the young couple entered the hall amid applause, the writings on groom Ramazan Bekrek's suit were initially puzzling to the guests. However, as the couple got closer, it was noticed that the front, back, and sleeve parts of the suit featured names of companies from various sectors. Many shocked guests rushed to their mobile phones to capture the moment.
HE FINANCED A QUARTER OF THE WEDDING COSTS
Turning every centimeter of his suit into commercial space, Ramazan Bekrek managed to finance a quarter of the wedding expenses through this unusual idea. The young groom's adaptation of the foreign example to Denizli's conditions not only provided economic relief but also became the most talked-about detail of the wedding.
"SOME LAUGH, SOME FIND IT INTERESTING"
Groom Ramazan Bekrek, who reduced wedding costs with his unusual idea, said, "This idea was first done abroad, there's a trial of it. As far as I know, it's never been done in Turkey. I thought it could be done here too. With about 20 companies sponsoring me, it covered roughly a quarter of our wedding expenses. I also think it's very attention-grabbing. It's a good idea, so I did it. My wife initially said, 'Don't do it without 10 companies.' She said, 'If there are 10 companies, you can do it. I support it.' So, some laugh, some find it strange, some find it interesting—there are various reactions. Of course, my family supported me; they were all behind me, especially my wife. Without her, we couldn't have done this project. It naturally contributed financially."
"I CHOSE TO STAND BY MY HUSBAND"
Bride Pınar Abas, who initially found the idea strange, said, "Then I thought, 'Why not?' and gave my support. My friends were surprised and said, 'It's not possible,' but I said, 'Why not?' and chose to stand by my husband. I'm glad I did. I think it's nice, different, and original. I'll feel strange and happy. Maybe because my husband pioneered this, I think I'll say, 'Dad pioneered this, and I'm glad he did such a thing.' There are certain norms, but our families later supported us. Because it really covered some financial aspects, it also relieved us."
One of those who advertised on the suit said that in return, the couple's children would receive free clothing from their brand for life. Another sponsor said they agreed on a cash basis.
