In Samsun, an individual with 28 criminal records stabbed and killed a person he claimed was harassing his ex-wife just 104 days after being released from prison. The suspect has been arrested and faces a life imprisonment demand in the filed case.

STABBED THE MAN HE ALLEGEDLY CLAIMED WAS HARASSING HIS EX-WIFE IN THE CHEST

The incident occurred on the evening of January 14, 2026, in the Sanayi District of Tekkeköy. According to information obtained, Dursun C. (40), a father of two with a total of 28 criminal records for intentional injury and drug offenses, encountered Mesut İnan (50), who was alleged to be harassing Dursun's ex-wife Canan G., from whom he had divorced 4 years ago. The argument between the two, who were known to have a prior feud, quickly escalated. During the altercation, Dursun C. stabbed Mesut İnan in the chest with a knife he had on him.

Seriously injured, Mesut İnan was taken to a private hospital by health teams dispatched to the scene. However, despite all medical interventions, İnan could not be saved.

SENT BACK TO THE PRISON FROM WHICH HE WAS RELEASED

After the incident, Dursun C. was taken into custody by teams from the Samsun Police Department's Public Order Branch, Homicide Bureau. It was revealed that Dursun C. had been released from prison on October 2, 2025, and committed the murder 104 days after his release.

After police procedures were completed, Dursun C. was referred to the Samsun Courthouse on January 15, 2026. The suspect, who gave a statement before the duty court, was arrested and sent back to the prison from which he had been released 105 days earlier.

LIFE SENTENCE DEMAND

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Samsun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was prepared against Dursun C. for the crime of 'intentional killing' under Article 81/1 of the Turkish Penal Code, seeking a life imprisonment sentence. While the indictment was accepted by the Samsun 1st Heavy Criminal Court, it was learned that the first hearing of the case will be held on July 2, 2026.
