In Kocaeli's İzmit district, a person killed a leashed dog by hitting it with an iron bar.

HE HIT IT REPEATEDLY WITH AN IRON BAR

The incident occurred around 21:30 yesterday at the Üçgaziler area in Gökçeören neighborhood of the district. S.D. repeatedly struck the dog, which was tethered by its leash, with an iron bar. After some time, the dog died from the blows, and S.D. dragged it by the leash and left it in a grassy area. Returning later, S.D. washed away the blood at the spot where he beat the dog with water.

FOOTAGE EMERGED, SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

The moments were captured on a security camera in the area. Following the release of the footage, gendarmerie teams launched an investigation and took S.D. into custody.

“A HUMAN BEING WOULD NOT TREAT AN ANIMAL THIS WAY”

Ibrahim Kaya, who came to the area to protest the incident, said, “A murderer tortured and killed the dog he was caring for over several minutes. Based on this footage, we went to the village. The gendarmerie was taking the suspect into custody. We saw the dog's dead body; it was shattered. A human being cannot treat an animal this way. Its entire body was broken, all its bones fractured; it was brutally killed through minutes of torture. They cited 'protecting our children' as a rationale, but the future child killers are these criminals. According to scientific data, these criminals first torture cats and dogs, and then murder our children.”
