While exiting a parking lot in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, 60-year-old Numan Kol, who lightly bumped into a woman passing behind his vehicle, was assaulted by two individuals. Due to the impact of the punches, the man fell hard to the ground and, according to claims, suffered a heart attack and lost his life. The panicked suspect attempted to revive Kol with CPR.
Numan Kol and his nephew Reşat Akkol entered the bakery located within the gas station next to the Beykent Metrobus Station in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul. As Kol was getting into the vehicle to leave, he lightly hit a woman named Şevval K. while reversing the car.
FELL TO THE GROUND DUE TO SLAPS
Angered by the situation, the woman's relative N.Y. punched the window of the car where Numan Kol was sitting in the passenger seat and slapped Kol, who had come down to calm himself. Due to the impact of the slaps he received, Kol fell hard to the ground.
PERFORMED CPR
N.Y., who attacked Numan Kol, allegedly performed CPR on Kol, who was claimed to have suffered a heart attack in panic. Kol was taken to a private hospital in Beylikdüzü by an ambulance called to the scene, but despite all interventions, he passed away. H.Y., who was involved in the fight with N.Y., was detained by the police. While N.Y., one of the suspects sent to the courthouse, was arrested, H.Y. was released under judicial control.
"THE CAUSE OF DEATH MAY BE ASSAULT"
It is claimed that Kol suffered a heart attack due to the blows he received, while the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy to be conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institution. It was learned that Kol would be buried in his hometown of Trabzon. His relative Recep Kol, who was waiting at the Forensic Medicine Institution to receive the body, said, "CPR is being performed in the ambulance as well, but it is not helping, he is dying. The cause of death may be a heart attack or it may be due to assault."
