The first session of the Higher Education Institutions Examination, the Basic Proficiency Test, which will determine the future of millions of candidates, began with great excitement in Adana as well. While last-minute hustle and bustle occurred in front of exam centers, the panic of a young candidate trying to make it to the exam literally took everyone's breath away. With just 1 minute left before the school gate closed, the young person arriving by car, in their excitement, forgot to engage the handbrake, left their car in the middle of the road, and rushed to the exam hall.
From the early hours of the morning across Adana, the fronts of exam centers were filled with the intense crowds of mothers, fathers, and candidates. As with every exam, some candidates racing against time and panicking about being late managed to step through the school doors at the last second. However, an incident in the city highlighted the extent of exam stress.
RACED AGAINST THE CLOCK, FORGOT THE VEHICLE
With exactly 1 minute left until the exam building doors closed, a young candidate who arrived rapidly at the exam center in his car experienced great panic. Stopping the car right in front of the school, he opened the door and started running inside. Blinded by the stress of making it to the exam, the young candidate completely forgot to pull the handbrake.
THE CAR WAS SAVED BY THE FAMILY
As the young candidate entered through the school door with the officials' final calls and took his seat in the exam hall, tense moments unfolded outside. The candidate's family, noticing the car left in the middle of the road with the handbrake not engaged and at risk of moving, immediately intervened. Family members ran to the car and pulled the handbrake, preventing a potential accident.
