Security camera footage shows the assailant pointing a gun at one of the victims sitting on the ground and attempting to kick him. The assailant fired at a man who started to run away. The assailant was then seen firing at another person outside the camera's view, and he shot at another person who was getting up and fleeing. Finally, after firing at someone sitting on the ground, he tucked the gun into his waistband and walked away.
According to CNN Brasil, one of the male victims was injured in the abdomen and left arm, while the other was shot in the chest and left arm. The female victim was shot in the left leg.
The São Paulo Public Security Department announced that the identity of the suspect has been determined and that a court order is awaited for his arrest. The Mongaguá Civil Police Station is investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
Luiz Pereira, the chief of the Civil Police, stated, "There is no other option but to remove someone who behaves this way from society." The injured woman, in an interview with a TV channel, said she did not recognize the assailant, stating, "He suddenly came with a gun and started shooting at everyone. I had never seen him before."
