After the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul, Pınar Bakırcı, who was staying in a tent with her children in a park in Esenyurt, was shot by her husband Turgut Bakırcı, with whom she had been living separately for some time, while sitting with her brother. Two women who were hit by the bullets were taken to the hospital by ambulance, while the suspect, who tried to escape, was caught and beaten by citizens in the park.
Pınar Bakırcı, who lives in the Mehterçeşme neighborhood of Esenyurt district in Istanbul with her 3 children, started to stay in a tent she set up in Gaziler Park after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake on April 23.
SHOT HIS WIFE AND SISTER-IN-LAW
In the evening hours today, Turgut Bakırcı, Pınar Bakırcı's husband, who has been living separately for a while, came to the park to talk. As the argument between the couple escalated, Turgut Bakırcı opened fire on his wife Pınar Bakırcı and her sister Arzu Kaygusuz with the gun he had with him. The women, who were hit by the bullets, fell to the ground in a pool of blood, while the suspect began to flee the scene.
CAUGHT AND BEATEN BY BYSTANDERS
Upon the notification of the bystanders, police and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the area. Citizens in the park caught Turgut Bakırcı, who was trying to escape. The suspect, who was beaten by the bystanders until the police arrived, was later handed over to the police.
TWO WOMEN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
Injured Pınar Bakırcı and Arzu Kaygusuz were taken to the hospital by ambulances after the first interventions at the scene. In the police investigation, it was determined that Pınar Bakırcı was hit by 2 bullets and Arzu Kaygusuz by 1 bullet. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
