In Izmir's Karabaglar district, 27-year-old Yasar Can Guler was killed by F.K. on a public street by strangling him for minutes. The grieving father, Baki Guler, who watched the murder captured on security cameras, stated that the suspect has 21 prior criminal records and reacted, 'Was this crime machine kept out on the street just so he could kill my son?' The father also said they have been threatened as a family and expressed that he will follow the case to the end.
Stating that his world collapsed after watching the footage of the murder of 27-year-old Yaşar Can Güler, who was strangled for minutes in the middle of the street in İzmir's Karabağlar district, the grieving father said, "Was this crime machine released so that my son would die?"
Drawing attention to the suspect's 21 criminal records, the father reacted, saying, "Why is such a crime machine outside? Was he kept out so that my son would die, or so that someone else would be harmed?" Stating that they were also threatened as a family, Güler said, "I will pursue this case until the end."
HE LOST HIS LIFE IN THE HOSPITAL The incident occurred on the evening of August 15 on 5759 Street in the Karabağlar district. According to the information obtained, upon a report of a fight in the area, numerous police and health teams were dispatched to the address. Teams arriving at the scene found Yaşar Can Güler (27) lying on the ground, seriously injured in the head and various parts of his body. Güler, who received first aid at the scene, was taken to İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. Despite all the doctors' efforts, the unfortunate man could not be saved and lost his life. F. K. (26), who was determined to have been involved in the incident and fled the area in a car with license plate 35 CZA 882, was caught by the police on Yeşillik Street.
HE STRANGLED HIM FOR MINUTES After the incident, police teams launched a comprehensive investigation and examined the security cameras in the area. The records revealed the blood-curdling details of the murder. In the footage, it was determined that Yaşar Can Güler and the murder suspect F. K. (26) arrived at the scene in the same car.
A verbal argument that started between the two after getting out of the vehicle quickly grew into a fistfight. It was seen that F. K. then struck Yaşar Can Güler with an object resembling a stick, which he had picked up and placed on the ground while getting out of his car. Later, during the struggle, F. K. wrapped his arms around the neck of Güler, who had fallen to the ground, and strangled the unfortunate man for minutes.
In those moments when Güler struggled for air and then became motionless, a citizen was seen on camera trying to intervene and break up the fight.

Our grief was already immense, but after watching that footage, my world collapsed, I was shattered. I can't sleep at night anymore; I have nightmares. I have a daughter who just turned 20. She also watched those images, and her psychology has been damaged; her condition is very bad right now. As a father, I am devastated."

The man places the stick on the ground as he gets out. Then he comes, acts rudely and disrespectfully to my son, and hits him. Seeing that he can't handle my son, he goes back and picks up the stick. He hits my son with the stick. He lays my son on the ground and strangles him. He literally killed my son by strangling him, in a murderous way. The boy is struggling there with his feet. My son, if you notice, is not resisting violently. That moment of strangling destroyed our worlds. I definitely don't think that man is of sound mind; he is definitely under the influence of alcohol or drugs."

He shows my son on the ground to him via the camera. Whoever is behind this, I really want them to be found."
"WAS THIS CRIME MACHINE RELEASED SO THAT MY SON WOULD DIE?" Drawing attention to the suspect's extensive criminal record, Father Güler stated, "With my son's murder, this man has 21 criminal records. He has a criminal record under article 188 covering drugs, and he is out. How many assaults on people does he have, and he is out. I really wonder how he is out. It troubles me that such a crime machine is out. Why isn't a person with 21 criminal records in prison? Was he released so that my son would die? Was this man kept out so that someone else would be harmed? I want these to be investigated."
"WE WERE THREATENED ON THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL" Stating that the other side had threatened them, Baki Güler emphasized that he would not give up his case and said the following: "Whoever supports this, they say it's the 'Kutlubey' family, they consider themselves powerful.On the day of my funeral, I received threats from them; they said 'this matter should not be pursued, no blood feud should be waged.' I have no intention of a blood feud, but I stand behind this case to the end and I am a complainant. We are also citizens, I am also a citizen of the Republic of Turkey. I trust our state and the media. They are surely not stronger than the media or the state. I want that person to receive the heaviest punishment as soon as possible. Additionally, there were reportedly 6 eyewitnesses at the time of the incident, but those six people do not appear on camera. I want those 6 eyewitnesses to be investigated as well, and for justice to be served.
